Edward and Sarah Ann were married in the parish church in Belton, witnessed by Harriet Claxton and George Claxton (relationship to Sarah Ann is unknown). [167]  All told, they had 10 children.

Family, including  4 children aged 5yrs to 8mos, lived on Lockless Lane, Belton, according to the 1881 Census [157a].  At the time, another daughter, 8yrs, was at the home of her grandparents, David Bickers and Sarah Claxton, also in Belton.  Also at the Claxton home was Mary Calver/Carver, 81, Sarah Claxton's widowed mother and one Martha Burrage, 17 (Burrage being Mary's maiden name, hence probably related).
